Sketch for the painting "Guardians of the Entrance"

The sketch for the painting "The Guardians of the Entrance" was created by Nikolai Konstantinovich Roerich in the 1920s and 1930s. The picture shows the entrance to a cave on the shore of a lake with hilly shores, and two armed guards in front of the entrance. The drawing is covered with a grid of horizontal and vertical lines that form squares with a side of about 8 cm. The author left the inscription "Guardians of the entrance" in the upper—right corner, and his own sign in the lower-left corner. The work is done on paper with a pencil.
