City Museum of Military Glory
About museum
On October 29, 1963, the Kaluga City Museum of Military Glory was opened in the building of the City Leisure Center. It was established by military commissar Mikhail Yankelievich. The museum displays informational panels, personal belongings of soldiers and commanders, and artifacts from the time of the Great Patriotic War. In one of the halls there is a bas-relief of a victorious warrior created by the sculptor V. G. Grishin. There you can also see many personal items donated by veterans and their children, as well as weapons from the Great Patriotic War. The second hall is dedicated to the search-and-recovery movement in the Kaluga region. Here you can see thematic exhibits that present the history and military glory of Kaluga.
