City Historical and Archaeological Museum 'Rantava'
About museum
The Rantava Museum in Pionersky opened in 1992 and has brought together in its halls exhibits from the heyday of the Roman Empire and the Great Amber Road. The main artifacts are finds from the 'Baltic Expedition' of the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a reconstruction of a gold ring from Shtrobienen dating to the early 7th century. The ring depicts the first princes of the Prussian land — Bruten and Videvut. The museum also presents exhibits dedicated to the development of the resort settlement Neukuren (Pionersky) and the Neukuren (Pionersky) fish factory. Temporary exhibitions and open activities for children and adults are held regularly. The Rantava Museum is not only a historical artifact but also a unique opportunity to visit the ancient Prussian state.
