Sterkh Contemporary Art Gallery

The gallery attracts many visitors and runs educational and outreach projects, discussion meetings, lectures and masterclasses.\r\n\r\nIn March 2001 the gallery was founded and was named "Surgut Art Gallery", and later was renamed MBUK GSI "Sterkh". Before that, the gallery building served as one of the exhibition halls of the Surgut Local History Museum. The gallery's main objectives are to support the city's artistic environment, provide access to the best examples of art, cultivate a valued attitude toward art and improve the quality of the audience's aesthetic needs. The name "Sterkh" was given to the gallery in 2005 in honor of the Siberian white crane, which is listed in the Red Book. The gallery hosts projects, exhibitions of various kinds, discussions, lectures and workshops that attract many visitors.
