Nagornaya Gallery
About museum
Nagornaya Gallery was opened in 1978 and became the first state gallery in Moscow outside the city center. Initially it exhibited academic painting, but over time the gallery's profile began to change and it started presenting contemporary digital technologies, multimedia, installations, as well as photography. The gallery carries out projects in partnership with Moscow and regional museums, cultural foundations, creative unions, art universities and other organizations. In 2014 the gallery participated in the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art. The venue hosts master classes, film screenings, festivals, performances, poetry readings, book presentations, meetings with cultural figures, discussions, actions, educational programs and an ethnonational fair.
