About museum

1986 was a time of change in the USSR. It was then decided to establish an exhibition space in every district of Moscow, and in the Kievsky District the "Arbat Exhibition Hall" was created. This was practically the first official place where artistic events could take place with a new level of freedom. The gallery also hosts poetry readings, musical and performative events. Voices of well-known Russian poets have been heard here. In addition, the gallery organizes video screenings and holds the annual "Sessions of Moscow Artists", accompanied by catalog publications. The gallery's goal is to help young artists and support established ones. In 2018 the gallery became part of the Association "Moscow Exhibition Halls" and continues its work in accordance with the principles of humanism, enlightenment and generational continuity.
