Abbakumtsevo village is a famous place. Here is the parish Church of the Annunciation, where the funeral of N. A. Nekrasov's mother took place, as well as the family burial vault. In 1872, thanks to the initiative of the poet and priest I. G. Zykov and other donors, a two-story wooden building was erected in which a zemstvo elementary public school was opened. Nekrasov was a trustee of this school until the end of his life. Also, at the beginning of the 19th century the poet's grandfather S. A. Nekrasov founded the Greshnevo estate, where the musicians' wing has been preserved. Household servants lived here, including serf musicians. Nekrasov spent his childhood in these places and often visited here as an adult. Works such as the poem 'Korobeyniki', the poems 'Peasant Children', 'The Funeral' and others were written here. Currently the school building in Abbakumtsevo and the musicians' wing in Greshnevo are closed for restoration, which is planned to be completed by 2021, the poet's 200th anniversary.
