About museum
The museum hosts master classes for children and adults, holidays, lectures and meetings with notable people.
On December 23, 1991, a local history museum was founded in Fatezh. The main materials for its collection were gathered by P. I. Zolotukhina, head of the "Razvedchik" club. The museum is housed in the historic building of the merchant estate of the city head I. K. Assoryev. Today it holds more than 2,000 exhibits, and the exhibition area totals 120 sq. m. The museum's displays allow visitors to learn about the history of the Fatezh area from the late 18th century to the present day. Special attention is given to the life and work of medical professor V. F. Voino-Yasenetsky (St. Luke); materials are presented about the first girls' progymnasium in the history of the Kursk region named after Emperor Alexander II. The museum also exhibits materials about writers and poets associated with the Fatezh area: I. S. Turgenev, F. T. Tyutchev, Ya. P. Polonsky, P. Ya. Chaadayev, I. Severyanin, State Duma member V. M. Purishkevich, and the revolutionary F. A. Sergeev.
