Engels Art Gallery
About museum
Engels Art Gallery is a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Cultural Institution "Saratov State Art Museum named after A. N. Radishchev." It is located in a complex of buildings of a town manor from the late 19th – early 20th century, which belonged to Nikolai Alekseevich Ukhin, an entrepreneur and patron of the arts, and an honorary citizen of the town of Pokrovsk (now the city of Engels). In 1985, on the 100th anniversary of the Radishchev Museum, at the initiative of A. A. Mylnikov (1919–2012) — People's Artist of the USSR, Vice‑President of the Academy of Arts, academician and honorary citizen of Engels — the possibility of creating a gallery was considered. In 1998 it was officially established as a structural subdivision of the municipal cultural institution "Engels Museum of Local History." The core of the gallery's collection consists of paintings and graphic works donated by A. A. Mylnikov.
