Exhibition 'The Great Patriotic War 1941–1945' ('Arsenal')

The exhibition is a unique collection of documents, photographs, household items, relics of the past and other exhibits and consists of nine halls. The Department 'The Great Patriotic War 1941–1945' ('Arsenal') of the Voronezh Regional Museum of Local Lore is located in a building that was built by the merchant I. Ya. Gardenin in the second half of the VIII century. From 1815–1847 a cantonist school was located here. Later, in the 19th century, the building was rebuilt and received the name 'Arsenal'. In 1979 it was transferred to the museum. Since 1983 it has housed an exhibition dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. In 2020 a completely updated exhibition dedicated to the battle for Voronezh and the lives of Voronezh residents during the Great Patriotic War was opened in the 'Arsenal'. It consists of nine halls and contains a unique collection of documents, photographs, household items, relics of the past and other exhibits. This place invites everyone to feel the atmosphere of the Great Patriotic War and to find answers to many questions.
