About museum

The Museum of Garbage Kaliningrad 'MU MU KA' began its work in
2021.

'MU MU KA' is the 'younger brother' of the Art Museum of Garbage 'MU MU' in the Kaluga region and carries out the same mission: environmental education, the promotion of mindful consumption, and a contemporary approach to topics of applied creativity and family leisure.

The 'MU MU KA' Museum is located at the Eco-site 'Green CAT' and is a private project of the Moscow art group 'BURO' — the authors and creators of the Cat Museum 'Murarium', the Museum of Owls 'FiloSoviya', the Museum of Skulls and Skeletons (MChS), and other museums that are part of the 'PARADOX' group.

The museum is not standard in the usual sense: 'trash', transformed into exhibits, not only stops being 'disgusting' but even evokes admiration and interest. Recognizable images, unexpected techniques of exhibit execution, unobtrusive eco-promotion, and attractions integrated into the exhibition — all of this is of interest to a wide range of visitors and, when the displayed material is properly reflected upon, allows guests to rethink their everyday habits and become 'more environmentally friendly'.

Daily guided tours are held for all who wish to attend, as well as special school tours with master classes and other activities. The collection of exhibits is constantly being replenished; in front of the museum building there is a large outdoor area where large-format exhibits are also displayed.

Special attractions operate on the museum grounds, and exhibitions of works by authors working in the 'trash-art' style are held periodically. At the exit from the museum there is an Ecomarket where you can purchase useful and high-quality products made from natural or recycled materials or unusual souvenirs!

A spacious free parking lot is available to visitors.
