Yeysk Art Museum named after I. A. Arzamastsev
About museum
A branch of the Yeysk Historical and Local Lore Museum named after V. V. Samsonov was opened on January 1, 2008, in the building of a former church. The museum's distinctive feature is its art collection, consisting of more than 1,700 paintings, graphic and sculptural works. The basis of the museum's first collection consisted of painting and graphic works that were lost during the Great Patriotic War. In the postwar years, works by D. I. Mitrokhin and a collection of Russian and Western European painting from the 16th to the early 20th centuries, bequeathed to the city of Yeysk by I. A. Arzamastsev (Prague), were added to the museum's collections. Thus, the museum represents a true center of Yeysk's culture and history.
