About museum

A branch of the Shushenskoye Museum-Reserve in the village of Ermakovskoye is housed in the building where, at the end of the 19th century during Siberian exile, the family of P.N. Lepeshinsky stayed. Here, under the leadership of V.I. Lenin, in August 1899 seventeen exiled social democrats of the Minusinsk district discussed the "Protest of the Russian Social-Democrats" — a document by revolutionary Marxists directed against the Economists. The house is a monument of federal significance. It now contains an exhibition hall hosting art and ethnographic exhibitions, including items from the collections of the Shushenskoye Museum-Reserve.
