V. I. Lenin House-Museum, Ufa
About museum
On January 21, 1941, the V. I. Lenin House-Museum was officially opened. In 1924 a decision was made to mark sites associated with the life and activities of V. I. Lenin. In Ufa a house was found in which N. K. Krupskaya spent her exile and where, in 1900, V. I. Lenin held a number of important meetings with Ufa social democrats. The building was rebuilt several times and acquired a new appearance, but remained in the same place on the same foundation. The house received the status of a federal cultural heritage site. The interior was restored according to N. K. Krupskaya's recollections. The museum contains items that belonged to Nadezhda Konstantinovna, including a pocket watch donated by her in 1938. The museum also displays interior and household items from the 19th-20th centuries. The museum's collections include over 7,000 exhibits, and in recent years it has received visitors from more than 100 countries.
