V. I. Lenin House Museum
About museum
In the village of Alakaevka stands one of the oldest memorial house-museums of V. I. Lenin, opened in 1935. From May 1889 to August 1893 the Ulyanov family lived here; from that family emerged an outstanding statesman and political figure of early 20th-century Russia. In 1970 a memorial-domestic exhibition dedicated to the Ulyanov family's stay in Alakaevka was recreated. Here you can visit the memorial-domestic exhibition, take guided tours on the themes "The Ulyanovs in Alakaevka" and "Life and Leisure in a 19th-Century Noble Estate," and stroll through the garden to learn about the layout of gardens and parks of past centuries. The Ulyanov estate in Alakaevka is a federal-level historical and cultural monument.
