S.A. Klychkov House-Museum
About museum
The museum of the poet Sergey Antonovich Klychkov is located in a house built at the end of the 19th century by his parents. He was so remarkable that Klychkov's friend Sergei Yesenin compared him to Prince Myshkin of Russian poetry. Anna Akhmatova was in love with him; she dedicated to him her famous 'I do not regret, I do not call, I do not cry...'. Many have heard the song 'Zhivet moya otrada' (My Joy Lives) but did not know that it was literarily adapted by Klychkov. The house has been restored and represents an early 20th-century interior. Here you can see a German harmonium, manuscripts, autographs, editions published during his lifetime, photographs and the personal belongings of the poet and his family. All this allows one to feel the atmosphere of the Klychkovs' life and to appreciate the truly fine poet.
