N. S. Leskov House-Museum
About museum
The 'Wizard of the Word' museum dedicated to S. D. Leskov is located in his father's house, which was a historical monument and a cultural heritage site. It was opened on July 2, 1974 and is called 'In Leskov's World'. Here you can see the writer's personal belongings, books from the memorial library, the first publications and editions of his works published during his lifetime, portraits and photographs of Leskov, his relatives and close ones. In one of the museum's halls the interior of the writer's last St. Petersburg study has been recreated. You can also see invaluable works by artist-illustrators, as well as the 'Family Memories' exhibition about A. N. Leskov, V. I. Dolina and K. A. Dyunina. Unique material about the writer's great-granddaughter T. Y. Leskova, a remarkable ballerina and ballet teacher, is also on display. The museum invites everyone to immerse themselves in Leskov's world and get acquainted with his work.
