House-Museum "Byli-Nebyli"
About museum
House-museum of the Tuma storyteller "Byli-Nebyli" - the first private historical and literary museum in Tuma. The founder and director of the museum is a poet, publicist, member of the Union of Russian Writers, and public figure Alexey Nikolayevich Gushan.
The house-museum is located in the central part of the settlement, a three-minute walk from the majestic Trinity Church, on the "Vladimir – Gus-Khrustalny – Tuma" section of the federal "Golden Ring" highway.
At the museum's thematic sites our guests will become acquainted with:
- the main symbol of Tuma;
- Tuma's outlaw past;
- the tea-drinking traditions of Tuma (including samovar tea tasting, 'literary' blini, local herbs, and jams made from garden and forest berries);
- Meshchera's main gold — honey and the beekeeping traditions of the protected Meshchera;
- literary Tuma;
- the daily life, traditions, rituals and crafts of Tuma residents;
- Tuma folktales.
