The Whaler's House
About museum
The Whaler's House is a museum-theatre project created to present the history of Kaliningrad in the 1960s–1980s. The permanent exhibition recreates an apartment as it was then. The museum tour is presented as an audio play based on reworked memories of Kaliningrad residents. Visitors can touch all the objects and sit in the chairs. In the cafeteria you can have coffee and try desserts familiar from childhood. The Whaler's House opened in May 2021 and twice won grant competitions held by the Vladimir Potanin Charity Fund. The museum also has exhibition halls for themed events.
