About museum
\r\nThe museum was opened on May 9, 1965. On its premises there are 9 exhibition halls and a storage repository, which house more than 20,000 exhibits found in the region. They include household items, clothing, tools, photographs, domestic utensils and other objects that demonstrate the culture and everyday life of the peoples. Among the most valuable items are kamali — an Udmurt women's chest ornament made of coins (early 19th century), a Tatar woman's dress (early 19th century), woven Udmurt and Tatar towels (late 19th century), a yellow metal kumgan brought in 1820 from Saudi Arabia, Swiss watches from the mid-19th century, and others. The museum also presents materials on the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War. Here you can see a wooden plow, an oak hoe, a weaving loom and other items demonstrating the history of agricultural development from the mid-19th century to the establishment of collective farms, dekulakization and post-war development.
