Central Park of Culture and Leisure named after Yuri A. Gagarin
About museum
There is a water park, an autodrome, active playgrounds and other recreational areas in the park.\r\n\r\nThe Central Park of Culture and Leisure named after Yuri A. Gagarin was founded in 1936 in the wooded area of the city of Chelyabinsk and covers an area of 52 hectares. As early as the 1930s local authorities were considering creating a park on the grounds of the city pine forest. In 1961, in honor of Yuri Gagarin's flight into space, the park was officially given the name of the Hero of the Soviet Union. Today the park is a popular city attraction that hosts large festivals, events and projects. A new free ice rink and a tubing run have opened here; film screenings, dance evenings, sports competitions and shows are held. Visitors can relax in the very center of the city at the water park, the autodrome, playgrounds and other spots.
