The budgetary institution of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Ugra 'Center for Folk Arts and Crafts' offers visitors an immersion into the atmosphere of antiquity, history, traditions and the culture of the peoples of the North. Here you can see costume ensembles reconstructed from archaeological and ethnographic sources, metal jewelry, ceramic vessels, birch-bark products, cedar-root items and household objects. The Ugra Crafts Center conducts various creative workshops in folk art: Ural–Siberian painting, clay modeling, traditional birch-bark crafts and textiles. Since 1994 the institution has been engaged in preserving, reviving and developing folk arts and crafts in the territory of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Ugra. It serves as a coordinating center for scientific, methodological, cultural-educational and technological activities in the field of folk art.
