About museum
In 1982 a People's Local History Museum was opened in the Buturlinovsky District. In 1989 it was awarded the honorary title "People's". The museum is housed in a merchant's mansion that belonged to timber trader Nikolai Alekseevich Maslyukov. Since 2009 the museum's director has been Vera Semyonovna Sachivko. Today the museum has become the center of the spiritual and cultural-historical development of the district. Mass events, exhibitions, and excursions are held here, and printed and manuscript materials, exhibits, paintings, photographs, and antique items are preserved. The museum staff run educational programs of a patriotic nature, as well as events in cooperation with schools, the education department, the veterans' council, and the district women's council. Over 35 years of operation the museum has become a methodological center for the heroic-patriotic education of youth. Visitors can learn about the rich history of the region by walking through the museum's six halls and gallery.
