Bor Local History Museum
About museum
The museum began its history in the mid-20th century. For more than 20 years it was the city historical museum operating on a voluntary basis. In 1989 it became a people's museum, and in 1992 it became a state institution and was located in the two-story mansion of former entrepreneur Alexander Lukyanovich Starov. It houses over 16,000 items in its main and research-supporting collections, including photographic documents, numismatic items, objects of decorative and applied arts and of folk daily life, items related to the history of technology, and paintings. The museum regularly holds permanent displays and temporary exhibitions. The museum is also home to a creative association — the photo club "Diagonal", which operates on an ongoing basis.
