Borisovsky Historical and Local History Museum

The Borisovsky Historical and Local History Museum houses a large collection of archaeological items dating from various ancient periods, as well as monuments of the Bondarikhinskaya and Catacomb cultures. It was opened in 1966 and currently comprises more than 6,000 storage units. The museum's exhibition is located in three halls and is dedicated to the themes: "Our Land in Antiquity", "Crafts of the Borisovsky Region", "Paintings by Borisov Artists", and the "Military Hall." It presents the artisanal workshops of the settlement of Borisovka, as well as paintings by artists and reproductions of paintings by D. I. Besperchego. The museum respectfully displays the names of Heroes of the Soviet Union, recipients of the Order of Glory, and Heroes of Socialist Labour. In 2011 the museum was moved to the restored Uspenskaya (Assumption) School building. The museum features a rich collection of items and monuments representing the history and culture of the Borisovsky region.
