Belozersky District Local History Museum
About museum
The history of the museum began in 1989 when V. D. Babushkina, head of the district executive committee, proposed creating a museum in the former Alekseevskaya Church, built in 1805. The last event in that building took place in 2012. In 2015 museum staff independently renovated a room on the third floor of the former PU-33, and permanent exhibitions were installed there: "Masters' and Craftswomen's Chamber", "Hall of Remembrance", "Native Land", "Retro Hall", "Archaeology, Paleontology, SAVIN-I". Temporary exhibitions are held in the archive and the museum's lecture hall, and a "Peasant Life" hall is also expected to open in the near future.
