Belomut Museum
About museum
In 2017 a branch called "Belomut Museum" was opened within the MBUK "Historical and Art Museum." It is an interesting place for studying the everyday life of Belomut residents. The exhibition is arranged across three halls. The first hall showcases local crafts as well as notable people of the settlement. Here you can see the study of the Russian scholar N. I. Nadezhdin and an exhibition about the poet and publicist N. P. Ogaryov, who freed the peasants of Belomut from serfdom. You can also learn about tailoring and carpentry, and about forest beekeeping in the Belomut woods. The second and third halls display paintings by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation V. V. Petrov and other artists, as well as an exhibition of household items, national costumes, and home decor. The museum is a wonderful place for residents of Lukhovichi and for tourists.
