About museum
The museum was opened on June 12, 2002, and today its collection comprises more than 1,800 exhibits. It contains archaeological and paleontological finds: arrowheads, pottery shards from the 15th century BC, fragments of chain mail, a ketmen, a halberd, a shark tooth in Cretaceous deposits, belemnites, ammonites, and more. The museum also preserves a small collection of samovars, furniture from the 19th and early 20th centuries, ethnographic items, as well as old books, pre-revolutionary periodicals, books, and numismatic items.
