Tower of Concord
About museum
The Tower of Concord is a magnificent, greatly enlarged replica of a traditional Ingush clan tower. It is the tallest building in Ingushetia and the highest observation tower in the North Caucasus. On the first floor there is an ethnographic museum, opened in April 2019 to mark the 25th anniversary of Magas. The museum features displays of defensive, semi-defensive, and residential towers that accurately recreate the life of the Ingush mountain people. The exhibits are not hidden behind glass, which gives the place a special atmosphere. Visitors can walk up a serpentine ramp to the very top, where a gallery houses more than 100 paintings by contemporary artists. Beyond that, visitors enter a throne hall executed in a medieval style. It was here that the elders—the heads of Ingush families—used to gather to make important decisions.
