Aznakaevsky Local History Museum was established by order of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in 1991. Until 1999 the museum did not have its own building and was located in the House of Culture. On May 18, 1999 the museum had its ceremonial opening, and on August 13, 2016 the museum moved to a new building. The museum has five exhibition halls: 'Archaeology and Nature of the Region', 'Ethnography, Trade and Crafts of the District', 'History of the District in 1930–1960 and the Great Patriotic War', 'Postwar History of the District. Famous Countrymen', 'History of the Region's Oil Production'. The museum displays museum items, documents, photographs, personal belongings and books that allow visitors to learn about the district's culture. The museum regularly holds meetings with notable local figures, war veterans, home-front workers and other people, as well as exhibitions. Because of all this, the museum attracts interest in the district's history and helps people understand its culture.
