On April 12, 2003, the 'Kvadrat' gallery was opened in the city center, located between the Peter and Paul Fortress and the cruiser 'Aurora' — symbols of two of Russia's most important historical events. Here you can see works by post-war artists, traditional genres and forms of art, as well as works by artists from new movements.
