The painting is a portrait of a woman in a dark blue low-cut dress. She is depicted against a background of burgundy drapery and leans with her left hand on the back of an armchair covered with a cloth with a pattern in red tones. There is a glass vase with a bouquet on the left side of the mirror table. At the bottom, on the end of the tabletop, the signature is visible: "N. Lavrov." The work was done in oil on canvas in the period from 1840 to the first half of the 1850s. The author is Nikolai Andreevich Lavrov.
