The Architectural and Ethnographic Museum 'Khokhlovka' is the first museum of wooden architecture in the Urals; it was established beginning in 1969 and opened to visitors in 1980. It is located on the bank of the Kama River, 43 km from Perm, and consists of 23 monuments of wooden architecture from the 17th–20th centuries, which represent the best examples of traditional and religious architecture of the peoples of the Kama region (Prikamye). The monuments house interiors and exhibition complexes, and the museum complex covers an area of 35.2 hectares. It is divided into sectors according to the cultural‑ethnographic zones of Prikamye and thematic complexes. The museum attracts many visitors and offers an immersion into the history and culture of the peoples of Prikamye.
