Apastovsky Local History Museum
About museum
On October 14, 1991 the Apastovsky Local History Museum was opened by decision No. 199 of the Presidium of the Apastovsky District Council of People's Deputies. The founder of the museum was history teacher Masrura Usmanovna Usmanova of the Apastovskaya School. In 2005 the museum moved to a new building. It contains 9,939 storage units. Eight permanent exhibitions are offered, including the domestic interior and ethnography of a Tatar village, notable people of the district, the district today and a printing press, and a hall of paleontology, archaeology and nature. In addition, the museum preserves rare and unique exhibits, including Golden Horde silver dirhams, remains of ancient animals, archaeological finds from the Stone Age and Volga Bulgaria. All this makes the Apastovsky Local History Museum one of the most valuable and interesting places to visit.
