Alikovsky District Literary and Local History Museum
About museum
In 1995, the Alikovo Literary and Local History Museum was opened in the village of Alikovo to commemorate the settlement's 300th anniversary. Previously, the building housed the Alikovo two-class school, erected in 1872 by the Chuvash educator Ivan Yakovlevich Yakovlev. The museum exhibits items of historical and cultural significance at the republican level, as well as more than 16,000 museum artifacts. It contains halls of natural history, ethnography, local history, military glory, labor glory, veterans of international service, and a memorial room named after I. Ya. Yakovlev. The museum serves as a cultural center for the residents of Alikovo and provides services to a wide audience.
