Aldan Historical and Local Lore Museum
О музее
The Aldan Museum was founded in 1933, when the town was still just a settlement. At first the museum focused on mineralogical research. In 1999 the wooden building was destroyed and all the exhibits were lost, but the museum staff successfully rebuilt it in 2000. Today the museum occupies 265 square meters and has 14 collections: painting, graphic arts, sculpture, applied arts, domestic life and ethnography, minerals, and numismatics. In the museum's holdings you can see paintings by artists from Yakutia. In 2020 the museum organized numerous events related to the 90th anniversary of Aldan District, the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Year of Memory and Glory in Russia, and the Year of Patriotism in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The museum's collection comprises 11,891 exhibits. The museum also hosts tours, educational activities, master classes, and meetings with interesting people.
