Abatsky Local History Museum

The Abatsky Local History Museum is located in the house of the merchant Zanin, built in 1824–1826. It was officially opened on March 10, 1994 under the direction of A. S. Vezel, an honorary resident of Abatsky District and a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR. The museum displays a colored porcelain plate produced at the first Russian porcelain factory; collections of samovars, bells, badges, clocks, and pottery; the famous banner from the village of Prokhorovka, Kursk Oblast; documents of participants in the Great Patriotic War; the certificate awarding M. N. Guryev the title Hero of the Soviet Union; and other frontline awards. The museum also houses paintings by M. A. Mochalov, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, as well as wartime sketches, personal belongings, documents, and awards of the artist. The museum's collection is constantly being replenished, and as of January 1, 2022 it comprises 3,934 items in storage. Various events are held here: exhibitions, guided tours, master classes, quests, museum lessons, and outdoor excursions around the village.
