Kirov Museum has opened the 'Literary Route'

The Kirov Regional Museum of Local Lore named after P.V. Alabin has developed a new service for its visitors: a museum 'literary route'. By purchasing such a ticket, a visitor will be able, at a special price*, to visit two museums that are part of the regional museum of local lore: the M.E. Saltykov-Shchedrin House Museum and the A.S. Grin Museum. Recall that the buildings of both literary museums were restored for the 650th anniversary of the city of Kirov. Their exhibitions have been significantly updated. Thus, after the building's restoration, the Saltykov-Shchedrin House Museum was furnished with a new exhibition, based mainly on authentic 19th-century items. All five rooms (dining room, parlor, study, bedroom and servants' room) serve as museum halls. In addition, the estate grounds were improved — one of the rare examples of a 19th-century estate complex preserved within the modern city limits. In the A.S. Grin Museum, during preparations for the re-exposition a large research effort was carried out to study the museum collections. As a result, items belonging to the Grinevsky family and never previously exhibited were presented to the public. The halls recreate an interior typical of a family of an ordinary clerk in the late 19th century. We should add that another museum route has been created and is operating at the local lore museum — the Main Building on Spasskaya + the 'Prikaznaya Izba' Museum. Tickets for each route can be purchased at any museum listed on the route, including with the Pushkin Card. Visitors may visit the museums within 3 months from the date of purchase.
