Vadim Nikolaevich Zadorozhny

About museum

Vadim Nikolaevich Zadorozhny is an antique dealer and collector of old-timers, the founder of the Convertible and Roadster Automobile Club and the Museum of Technology. Vadim Zadorozhny was born in the picturesque city of Uzhhorod and spent his childhood in Transcarpathia. After serving in the USSR Border Troops he moved to Moscow and enrolled in the Krupskaya Pedagogical Institute. In 1987 he received his diploma and began teaching history, which had a significant influence on his later life.

His interest in history and antiques brought Zadorozhny together with specialists in this field. The collector gained recognition and founded the Russian Guild of Antiquarians. Zadorozhny aimed to use vintage automobiles to illustrate different eras in national and world history.

In 1999, at the "Autoexotica" exhibition, Zadorozhny met automobile restorers. The purchase and restoration of a pre-war BMW marked the beginning of his passion for automotive technology. The collection grew, requiring more space and staff, which led to the creation of the "Convertible and Roadster Automobile Club." Subsequently, the Vadim Zadorozhny Museum of Technology was established — a large complex including exhibition halls, workshops and other facilities. The museum opened on April 12, 2008.
