Vitaly Anufriyevich Sobrovin was a Soviet and Russian photographer, an honorary citizen of Belgorod, an Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, and a member of the Union of Journalists of Russia. Vitaly Sobrovin was born in the city of Romny in the Sumy region, but in the year of his birth the family moved to Belgorod. He graduated from Secondary School No. 35 in Belgorod, after which he continued his studies at the Kharkiv College of Industrial Transport. From 1957, Vitaly Anufriyevich worked at the newspaper "Belgorodskaya Pravda".
Sobrovin's first solo exhibition took place in 1964 at the "Pobeda" cinema in Belgorod. During his life the photographer organized more than fifty solo exhibitions, produced over two million photographs and about a hundred publications — books, photo albums, brochures and calendars. Sobrovin's achievements were recognized with numerous awards, including the Pushkin Medal from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation (2000). He was also awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Belgorod" for many years of fruitful work. Vitaly Anufriyevich Sobrovin passed away on February 26, 2008.
