Maria Nikolaevna Yermolova was a Russian dramatic actress of the Maly Theatre. Maria Yermolova was born in Moscow on 3 (15) July 1853 into the family of a Maly Theatre prompter. In 1862 Maria entered the ballet class of the Moscow Theatrical School. Although she did not show outstanding talent for ballet, she participated in the crowd scenes of various productions.
