Margarita Grigorievna Ivanova — a Soviet and Russian historian and researcher. Senior Research Fellow at the Udmurt Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor. Honored Worker of Science of the Udmurt Republic (1994). Recipient of the National Prize for the Protection of Russia's Archaeological Heritage 'Heritage of Generations', recipient of the State Prize of the Udmurt Republic (2007).
 
Tatyana Ozhiganova graduated from a pedagogical college and the Faculty of History of the Udmurt Pedagogical Institute. In 1973 she defended her Candidate of Sciences (equivalent to a PhD) dissertation at the Institute of Archaeology of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1996 she was awarded a Doctor of Sciences degree for the work 'The Udmurts in the Medieval Period'. From 1973 she worked at the Udmurt Institute of History, Language and Literature (UdIIYAL, Ural Branch of the RAS) as a research fellow and later as head of the archaeology department. From 1996 to 2017 she held the positions of Academic Secretary and Deputy Director for Research at UdIIYAL of the Ural Branch of the RAS.
 
Tatyana Ozhiganova's research focused on the medieval history and culture of Finno-Ugric peoples. She studied the socio-economic history and the development of fortified settlements, paying particular attention to the Idnakar hillfort — the medieval center of the Udmurts. Tatyana Ozhiganova was an active public figure. She was a member of: the Editorial Board of the journal 'Finno-ugrica'; the Specialized Council for the Defense of Doctoral Dissertations at Udmurt State University; the Commission on State Prizes of the Udmurt Republic; and the Art and Expert Council of the National Center for Decorative and Applied Arts and Crafts of the Ministry of Culture of the Udmurt Republic. She was also involved in the revival of traditional folk arts and crafts in Udmurtia and was the author of the scientific concept for their development in the region.
