Lyudmila Alexandrovna Klimentovskaya – a Soviet and Russian artist, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. She was born on September 29, 1916, in Zanino-Pochinki, Ryazan Governorate. From 1930 to 1933 she studied at the Kasimov factory-plant school. From 1933 to 1935 she worked at the "Krasny Tekstilshchik" ("Red Textile Worker") factory in the town of Kasimov. From 1935 to 1939 she studied at the Ryazan Art School. From 1939 to 1941 she worked as an artist-trainee at the Leningrad Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.  

In 1941 she worked as a stage designer at the Moscow Drama Theater named after M. Yermolova. From 1941 to 1943 she was a secondary school teacher in the Ryazan region. From 1943 to 1945 she served as a senior research fellow and director of the Ryazan Regional Art Museum. From 1945 to 1948 she was the chief artist of the Sevastopol Drama Theater. In 1948 she became the chief artist of the Dzerzhinsky Drama Theater of the Nizhny Novgorod region. In 1950 she was accepted as a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and worked as the head of the Kaliningrad branch of the Union of Artists. In 1951 she initiated the establishment of the Kaluga branch of the Union of Artists. 

Lyudmila Alexandrovna Klimentovskaya died on March 15, 2000, in Kaluga. Since 2001, the L. Klimentovskaya Art Gallery has been operating in Kaluga. Her paintings are held in the museums of Ryazan, Kaliningrad, Kaluga, several towns of the Kaluga region, and in private collections in Russia, Denmark, Bulgaria, and Germany.
