Lyudmila Nikiforovna Pavlova-Koshman was a Soviet and Russian artist in the field of decorative and applied arts, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1982). She was born in the stanitsa of Kagalnitskaya in the North Caucasus Krai, now Rostov Oblast. After finishing school she went to enroll at the M. B. Grekov Odessa Art School, which she graduated from in 1949.
From 1949 she worked as the chief artist at the "Krasny Farforist" factory; in 1956–1958 she worked at the Leningrad Porcelain Factory (LZFI) as a senior artist (chief artist of the factory); from 1959 she was the chief artist of the Krasnodar Porcelain Factory "Chaika". She created tableware sets, decorative and floor vases, sculpture, small-scale sculptures, decorative wall panels, reliefs, and souvenir products. In 1960 she developed the sculpture "Chaika", which became the factory's symbol and trademark.
She spent her final years living in Krasnodar. She is the author of the books "Passions and Sufferings" and "Enchanting Ceramics — My Love". Lyudmila Nikiforovna Pavlova-Koshman passed away in 2015. In 2013, the Kagalnitsky Local History Museum was named after the Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Lyudmila Nikiforovna Pavlova-Koshman.
