Konstantin Grigoryevich Sakharov – a Soviet and Russian party and industrial figure. Vice President of AvtoVAZ and Director of the AvtoVAZ Research and Technical Center (NTC AvtoVAZ). Konstantin Grigoryevich Sakharov was born in the Polish town of Hajnówka. After finishing school he served four years in the Soviet Army on the cruiser "Alexander Nevsky" of the Northern Fleet, after which he received his education at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute.
 
In 1969 Konstantin Sakharov began his career at the Volga Automobile Plant (VAZ), where he worked until 2004. He rose from the position of a foreman to deputy secretary of the plant's party committee, and later became Deputy General Director for Personnel of OJSC AvtoVAZ.
 
From 1989 to 2004 Sakharov headed VAZ's Research and Technical Center (NTC) and served as Vice President for Technical Development. He also headed the Lada hockey club for many years. In March 2004 Konstantin Grigoryevich retired, and in 2007 he passed away in Tolyatti. An important contribution by Sakharov to AvtoVAZ's history was the creation of the Technical Museum, opened on 7 September 2001 in honor of the 15th anniversary of the Research and Technical Center (now the K.G. Sakharov Park Complex of Technical History), which he initiated and organized.
