Konstantin Arkhipovich Trunov

Konstantin Arkhipovich Trunov was a Russian serviceman, a participant in the First World War and the Civil War, and a full Cavalier of the Order of St. George. He was born in the village of Ternovka in the Stavropol Governorate. From 1913 Trunov served in the 83rd Samur Infantry Regiment. At the outbreak of the First World War he was at the front and performed many feats of arms; he was awarded four Orders of St. George.
After the war Trunov returned to his native village and formed a partisan detachment. In 1919 he commanded the Dono-Stavropol Cavalry Regiment, which took part in the battles near Tsaritsyn. In June 1920 his regiment fought on the Polish front. On 3 August 1920 Konstantin Arkhipovich Trunov was killed in battles against the White Poles. His native village and the district were named after him.
