Iraida Dmitrievna Bronnikova

About museum

Bronnikova Iraida Dmitrievna — an Honored School Teacher of the RSFSR, the founder and first director of the Khorol District Local History Museum. She was born in the town of Belev, Tula Oblast. She graduated from the Krasnodar Teachers' Institute, and on June 18, 1941, she was posted to Khabarovsk Krai. From 1944 she worked as a history teacher at Khorol Secondary School No. 1, and for a long time afterwards served as deputy headteacher. She was the initiator, founder and director of the Khorol District Local History Museum.

The museum was founded in 1973. The museum's first exhibition was arranged in the building of Khorol Secondary School. To collect historical information and museum items, Bronnikova organized a group called "Poisk" ("Search") among the students of Khorol Secondary School. She received great assistance in this work from history teachers Faina Ivanovna Gorovaya and Antonina Sergeevna Petrenko. 

Iraida Dmitrievna Bronnikova passed away on February 17, 1995. In 2001 the district local history museum was given the name of I. D. Bronnikova. The museum building is a cultural heritage monument of Primorsky Krai.
