Ildar Kasimovich Zaripov

Ildar Kasimovich Zaripov – a Tatar painter, author of monumental murals and easel paintings. He was born in 1939 in Kazan. He received his artistic education at the Kazan Art School and the Moscow State Art Institute named after Surikov. He also completed the painting studio of the Academy of Arts of the USSR under the guidance of G. M. Korzhev.
Since 1966 Zaripov participated in international, all-Russian, regional and solo exhibitions. He was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and was awarded high titles and honors: Honored Art Worker of the Tatar ASSR, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, laureate of state prizes, and the title People's Artist of Russia. Ildar Kasimovich Zaripov passed away on June 14, 2012.
