Akhmetgarey Shakirzyanovich Abdreev

Akhmetgarey Shakirzyanovich Abdreev — chairman of the collective farm named for the XXII Party Congress in the Drozhzhanovsky District, Tatar ASSR. Hero of Socialist Labor. He was born in the village of Staroye Shaimurzhino in the Drozhzhanovsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan. After finishing school he worked as a bookkeeper at the Stalin collective farm (Budennovsky District). Abdreev took part in the Great Patriotic War, served as a mortar man in the 72nd Rifle Regiment, was wounded and demobilized.

From 1943 Abdreev worked as a collective farmer, was elected secretary of the party organization, and later held party and Soviet positions: senior inspector of the state supply department of the Budennovsky District Executive Committee and assistant secretary of the Budennovsky District Party Committee (1950–1955). In 1956 Abdreev was elected chairman of the collective farm named for the XXII Party Congress. Under his leadership, the collective farm significantly strengthened its material and technical base, increased crop yields and livestock productivity.

For outstanding achievements in agriculture, in 1971 Abdreev was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor. He led the collective farm for more than 30 years, until retiring in 1988. Abdreev was elected a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Tatar ASSR, a delegate to party and collective farm congresses, and was a member of the Council of Collective Farms of the country (1969–1986). Akhmetgarey Shakirzyanovich Abdreev passed away on December 4, 2004.
