XXIII Regional Exhibition-Competition of Visual Arts "Miner's Character"
About exhibition
The project, dedicated to Kuzbass's main holiday — Miner's Day — continues to bring together professional artists and amateur artists from among workers of the coal industry across the region. For 23 years the project has been growing each year with new participants from different parts of Kuzbass, highlighting facets of the miner's character and revealing the creative potential of its participants. Each year more than 60 authors — amateurs and professionals — take part and over 150 works are exhibited; the geography of participants and the range of techniques represented continue to expand. Once again the exhibition will be filled with remarkable paintings. Visitors will discover new names and participate in master classes with project participants. The exhibition will present works in the genres of painting, graphics, artistic forging, as well as works made from coal and coal dust, batik, and root sculpture. Competition entries will be evaluated in the categories "Works about miners and mining labor", "Work by an amateur author — a coal industry worker", and "Decorative and applied arts".
